Founded in 1998, Rhode Island Free Clinic provides free, comprehensive medical and preventive care to Rhode Island adults who are uninsured and cannot afford healthcare.
With the help of hundreds of volunteer healthcare professionals and community partners, the clinic offers everything from primary and specialty care to dental, behavioral health, prescriptions, and wellness services, all helping create a healthier Rhode Island. In this segment of Studio10, Krystin Rae sits down with CEO Jessica Eagles and Dr. Philip Rizzuto to discuss how the clinic is detecting diabetic eye disease, early. Dr. Rizzuto is an eye physician and surgeon, a professor at Brown, board member and Director of the Eye service at the Rhode Island Free Clinic.
